Easy Dairy-Free Hot Cocoa

While it's not quite officially winter yet, the weather is showing that it's definitely coming our way. In Ohio, we've already seen a dusting of snow, frost on the grass & the windows on our cars. Christmas is only a few weeks away which means warm drinks are here to stay - for now. I'm already a coffee lover (even though I'm slowly getting away from it -story for another day) and have recently started drinking more matcha. But nothing compares to a cup of hot cocoa.

Whether you're cuddled up by a fire, walking around viewing lights or taking a quick break from ice skating around the rink, hot chocolate seems to be the drink of choice. I'm not even mad about it. I've had a variety of hot chocolates and I find myself to be pretty picky.

Truthfully, I'm not a Swiss Miss kind of girl. And if you are, no shame. But I find that there are better options that you can buy from the store or make at home that taste way better.

PRO TIP: If you're ever in New York City, go to No Chewing Allowed. Hands down the best hot chocolate I've ever had. It truly tastes like you're drinking liquid chocolate. It's rich, thick & creamy. A perfect way to warm you up when you're walking those New York streets.

Anyways! Back to you & hot cocoa. How do you take your cocoa? Do you like it plain Jane? How about with a bunch of marshmallows piled on top? Or what about those new massive marshmallows that have been popping up everywhere? Do you like those?

How about flavors? Do you prefer peppermint in yours? Maybe a bit of vanilla or caramel?

And do you go with whipped cream or no whipped cream? Personally, I'm a whipped cream type of girl. But these days, I go sans whip as I'm trying to consume less dairy to improve my gut health.

However you take your cocoa, I'm sure it's delicious. Make sure it's delicious! Which brings you to the simplest hot cocoa recipe you'll ever find. For real, it is!

You can make it in your blender or on the stove top. And it probably takes 5 minutes from start to finish.

It doesn't get easier than that. Promise. So here we go, let's dive in.
